GO

We’re creating a culture we can’t wait to come back to each Monday—and we’re looking for talented facilitators, strategists, writers and designers who want to be part of it.

Our team is made up of the best and the brightest from outdoor, wellness and technical apparel brands all over the world. We believe in bold work and bold living.

Ocacé

We’re an ambitious team that values Ownership, Co-creation, Adventure, Curiosity and Empathy—above all else. We call it OCACÉ for short.

Simply put, we believe in the work we’re doing and make sure our “Why” is at the heart of every decision we make. Oh, and perks are nice, too. For example…

Hybrid work set-up.

We ask that you’re in our Vancouver office two days a week, because…

Collaboration is key to getting our best work done.

That, and we really like raising a glass together now and then.

We pursue education relentlessly.

From decolonization workshops to your own Professional Development Fund, staying educated is a priority (and we choose to invest in you).

Our books are open, literally.

We have a quarterly financial review with the entire team, so you can see where every dollar goes.

Quarterly team offsites.

Think strategic alignment and team-bonding that’s actually really fun. Offsites include a little work, a little play and a lot of time spent outdoors together.

We stay cultured, baby.

Art shows, run clubs, Whitecaps tickets and a great office library are just a few of the ways we keep culture alive at Monday.

THE JOB

Monday is looking for a Strategy Director to join our Vancouver team. You are an agency veteran (bonus points for in-house brand experience) who has touched nearly every aspect of creative strategy—trend, audience, brand, marketing and campaign. You have developed high concept global campaigns and also understand the levers to pull in a holistic engagement plan. You give and receive feedback with curiosity and openness. You’re an optimist and a risk taker who lives and breathes the outdoors.

In this role you’ll exercise your creativity, collaboration and people management skills daily. You’ll be overseeing and gradually growing a team of strategists, researchers, writers and account managers—refining and establishing processes and best practices. You’ll also work closely with our clients, managing key relationships and seeking new opportunities for business growth.

The person best suited for this role has worked with direct-to-consumer/retail brands but can also flex into non-profit, real estate and education space as work requires. Strong presentation and writing skills are a must—you’ll be shaping brand stories and messaging and leading client workshops. You will report to our CEO, while working closely with our team in our Vancouver Headquarters (hybrid - 2 days/week in office minimum).

DAY TO DAY YOU WILL

  • Manage and mentor a team of strategists, researchers, writers and account managers— editing, elevating and giving feedback on their work
  • Refine and establish processes and best practices for all research, strategy and AM components of our work
  • Stay on top of trends in the active, outdoor and wellness industries, as well as trends in marketing and social and the tech that enables it
  • Grow accounts with key existing clients—spotting new opportunities, pitching and scoping additional work
  • Raise Monday’s profile—contributing thought leadership to our digital magazine and social channels, attending events and becoming a known presence in the outdoor and marketing industries
  • Plan and lead client workshops
  • Develop robust brand and engagement strategies for Monday clients—with a focus on DTC outdoor and wellness brands
  • Oversee and contribute to omnichannel campaign strategies that touch web, paid media, email, social, and OOH
  • Act as a main point of contact for select key clients
  • Develop and implement creative briefs for our creative teams
  • Collaborate with design team, videographers and photographers to develop campaigns and social media content
  • Act as a final set of eyes on documents before they go out to clients
  • Participate in weekly team meetings
  • Carefully track your hours and adhere to project scope set out by the Project Manager

QUALITIES AND SKILLS YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • You have 8 or more years’ experience developing and executing brand and marketing strategies and managing client relationships in an agency
  • You have experience managing a team of strategists and creatives
  • You have a keen understanding of omnichannel marketing—including web, email, social, paid media and OOH
  • You love retail and have a passion for DTC—ideally with a focus on wellness and the outdoors
  • You have proven expertise in leading and facilitating workshops and presentations
  • You’re an entrepreneurial spirit who enjoys a fast-paced environment
  • You’re able to give and receive feedback
  • You’re a self-starter who is deeply organized—you’ll be touching multiple projects at once, so keeping tabs on your deadlines, to-dos and calendar will be key
  • You’re a relentless learner who explores new topics and finds joy in reading and researching
  • You have a proven ability to work with a cross-functional team and collaborate
  • You take full personal responsibility for your life and actions. You never blame—you find solutions
  • You love the outdoors and live an active lifestyle

Creating a culture you want to be a part of is wonderful (and crucial), but we know that the right job goes beyond that. Here’s what else we’re doing for our employees:

Summer Fridays

Summers in Vancouver may feel short, but there’s a lot you can do with a few extra long weekends.

Remote month option

Hornby Island. Austin, TX. Mexico City. For four weeks each year you can work from wherever the wind blows.

Quarterly bonus structure

Because we’re in the business of rewarding good work and celebrating collective success (in a tangible way).

Extended medical coverage

Doing your best work starts with feeling your best, consistently.

Development fund

After six months, you’ll get access to $1,500/year to put towards learning that supports you in your role.

Bonus long weekend in March

It lands on a Friday, but we’ve named it Monday Day.

Transparency in pay structure

Curious how your salary stacks up? Salary bands
and pay structures are out
in the open.

Flexible work hours

Outside of our core office hours — 9:30am-3pm — your schedule is in your hands.
