Bringing awareness to a new circular platform
When Arc’teryx was ready to showcase their new platform for circular innovation—System 0—they turned to Monday. Together, we concepted, designed and created an immersive two-day media experience for global press.
As part of this launch, they spotlighted their brand-new Sperro SV jacket—their first GORE-TEX jacket made from recycled materials designed for repairability and end-of-life recyclability. With key media outlets from around the world gathering to get a first look, our goal was to make a lasting impression within Arc’teryx’s home base in North Vancouver.
Rooted in Arc’teryx’s origins
We set out to bring the raw, unvarnished and industrial energy of the Arc’teryx Design Centre directly into the brand’s gathering space at their HQ, the Nest. By anchoring the space through authentically Arc’teryx elements and integrating natural materials, our design language lifted the traditional veneer of a media event and refocused attention on the unique process behind the initiative. This created natural opportunities for interviews, conversations and photography.
Introducing System 0™ through activation design
Our Day One focus was welcoming media partners into the Nest—educating and inspiring.
We custom-designed a deconstructed Sperro SV jacket, leveraging climbing rope and carabiner attachments to show how the piece comes together and can be disassembled for recycling and reuse. As media moved through the space, screens featuring animated visuals and plinth displays showcased System 0’s five pillars of circularity.
A classic cut-and-sew table from Arc’teryx’s Design Centre—featuring the original sewing patterns, Sperro SV sections, threads and tools —made the story tangible and shone a spotlight on the meticulous design process, engineering and philosophy behind Sperro SV.
At the heart of the space, we designed a modular four-part table to display the core Sperro SV colorways . We designed this circular piece to be free-standing, reconfigured into bench seating and repurposed for future events.
An authentically coastal experience
The space was filled with curated Coast Mountain and System 0™ campaign imagery that transported attendees to a truly immersive coastal environment. To bring the feeling home, we partnered with the event experts at Kin to concept dining experiences that felt true to PNW. We collaborated on everything from custom cocktail and dinner menus to place cards to activate intimate dining experiences at Cafe Isetta and Buvette, where local ingredients and chefs were the stars.
Raising Arc’teryx’s profile worldwide
The two-day event left journalists inspired and energized to tell this story and shine a global spotlight on the platform. Since the launch of System 0 and Sperro SV, Arc’teryx is proving that taking meaningful steps towards circularity is worth it. In their words: The revolution is circular.
